Storage Provisioning Engineer Major
Responsibilities:
1. The Storage Provisioning Engineer (SPE) is responsible for the provisioning of all storage devices to servers. SPE will manage the storage request workflow system to ensure all requests have been completed within the five business day Service Level.
2. SPE will work closely with SAN Engineer (SE) in the coordination of all provisioning activities. SPE will inform SE of upcoming storage allocations so that the SE can coordinate SAN documentation and Change Control requests.
3. SPE will utilize vendor provisioning tools to allocate storage. SPE will maintain a solid understanding of all provisioning tools. SPE will work with vendors to correct, update and modify provisioning tools as needed. SPE will be familiar in SAN zoning functions.
4. SPE will manage storage centric projects such as new installations and Life Cycle Management of servers and servers. Work with ESM and Server Administrators to resolve storage connectivity and performance issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, Computer science degree is preferred;
Team worker and self motivated;
Strong in English and communication skill sets.
Either have some storage experience, preferably with EMC,IBM and Hitachi or individuals that would be willing to be trained.
