  缺月挂疏桐，
  漏断人初静。
  谁见幽人独往来？
  飘渺孤鸿影。
  
  A waning moon hangs on sparse parasol trees.
  People fall into silence in the dead of night.
  A recluse comes and goes alone, but who sees?
  Like a solitary swan's shadow in the dim light.
  
  惊起却回头，
  有恨无人省。
  捡尽寒枝不肯栖，
  寂寞沙洲冷。
  
  Startled suddenly, he turned back his head,
  While nobody can understand his sorrows.
  On no cold boughs would he make his bed,
  But on a cold shoal lonely as the river flows.
