Software Engineering Quality Officier
Job Title: Software Engineering Quality Officier
Location: Shanghai

Position Description:

This is a senior position with the Application Programming Group (APG) of our bank Shanghai IT department. The team is involved in defining and implementing Project Management and SDLC methodologies for IT teams at our bank. The candidate will play a key role in the architecture and design of project management and SDLC processes. He/She needs to be an out-of-the-box thinker with the ability to adapt industry best practices and frameworks to the organizational context. The candidate needs to have a practical hands-on approach to demonstrate and deliver process improvements. The candidate will: research contemporary process frameworks (like RUP, Agile Methodologies such as XP, FDD, SCRUM, etc) and internal best practices and adapt these to project/team specific needs. Conduct gap analysis against industry standards and facilitate adoption of best practices, templates and guidelines in APG teams. Demonstrate process effectiveness by providing hands-on support to project teams in the implementation of Project Management and SDLC processes. Meet regularly with project teams to review process effectiveness. Consult/ advise/ mentor / training project teams on Project Management and SDLC process improvements. Help spread, maintain and enhance a culture of delivery excellence and continuous improvement in different projects within the organization. Help define a metrics framework to measure productivity, quality and delivery effectiveness. Avangelize the benefits of using or changing software process to various stakeholders.

Requirements:

BE/MBA. Should have Process/ Quality certifications such as CSQA, PMP, ScrumMaster, etc.
6-7 years of IT Experience with at least 2 years in the software engineering process area of an IT organization
Proven hands on experience in defining/ implementing Quality Processes in Software development organizations using standard industry models.
Proven work experience in process frameworks such as RUP and other agile methodologies such as FDD, XP, SCRUM, etc.
Project implementation experience using object-oriented development, including usage of UML and OO methodologies proficiency with MS Project Round Knowledge of Project Management concepts.
Experience interacting with stakeholders and coordinating multiple projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team
Experience with an Enterprise Project Management tool like Mercury ITG

Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in a team of high-caliber developers & integration specialists working in Shanghai. The Asia Equity Application Programming Group (APG), consisting of developers and integrators, supports our bank's Equity trading business in Asia Pacific. Asia APG is part of a global Equity application development team that is distributed across New York, Hong Kong, London and Tokyo. Candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of the Unix/Linux environment, as well as database experience. Perl/shell scripting will be largely used to automate integration, deployment and architectural solutions. This position involves participating on all levels of ongoing system development, including: requirements analysis, design, architecture, implementation, integration, testing and deployment.

Skills Required

Technical skills:
1. Intermediate or advanced experience of Unix/Linux platform, Sybase/SQL and scripting [Perl preferred]
2. Strong technical ability and analytical skills
3. Good People Skills and Communication Skills is essential. Ability to establish and maintain relationships across various IT organizations.
4. FIX Knowledge is a big plus.
5. Experience in Equity trading systems is a plus.

We are looking for a different-level software developer to join a growing team to develop and support Referential Data systems for our bank. The work ranges from building technical infrastructure to developing applications to support Asia & global business expansion. The candidate will be involved in gathering user requirements, designing, programming, testing, deploying systems, and making enhancements to systems for users. The responsibilities will also include user and production support. The candidate will be based in Shanghai in a new team of 5 initially with growth over the next few years expected, working with an existing team in Tokyo as part of a regional Asia group.
