You can reimage your Cisco IDS 4000 to reset the password.

For IDS-4215: Press CTRL + R within 5 seconds after booting, to enter ROMMON mode. You then configure some essential info for the IDS and download image from a TFTP server. SEE ALSO: password recovery for a Cisco router in ROMMON mode.

For IDS-4240/4255: REFER ABOVE, except you enter ROMMON mode by pressing BREAK or ESC key.
