shu ting<br /><br />Who with hot,brimming eyes and ready hand<br />Wrote these three words on the beach<br /><br />Who still holding to tender hope<br />Studded the line with seven-coloured shells<br /><br />It must at last have been a girl<br />Set down the bouquet of embryo chrysanthemums tied in a red kerchief<br /><br />So that all who pass here<br />Are stained with the anonymous thought<br />
